Your Home for the Holidays! From Thanksgiving to New Year's, the
holidays are a great time to visit Stowe! Whether it's for
some early season skiing, to pick up a Vermont Christmas Tree,
or to enjoy all the festivities of Thanksgiving, Christmas and
New Year's Eve, your stay at the Inn and Stowe will create memories
for a lifetime.
Kick off your holiday season with a New England Thanksgiving
at the Inn. Savor some traditional favorites, like Vermont roast
turkey, maple-apple butter, cranberry-nut bread, and of course,
homemade apple pie à la mode.
Late November/early December is a great time
to get a jump start on your holiday shopping! Stowe's 100
owner-operated shops range from award winning Vermont specialty
food, nationally recognized galleries, art, craft, jewelry, housewares,
apparel, collectibles, antiques and (of course) sports equipment! You'll
be sure to find something truly unique to bring home to your
friends and family. You can also bring home a fresh cut
Christmas tree from a local tree farm.
There are many things to enjoy in the Village
and the Stowe Area, including: skating, skiing, carriage & sleigh
rides, snowmobiling, tobogganing, nightclubs and restaurants. Or
just relax and take in a day at a spa, a massage at the Inn,
swim in our outdoor pool or enjoy reading a good book by the
fire.
Many events take place in December, including:
the Stowefest Demo Days, the Stowe Community Church
Annual Christmas Fair, the Annual Festival of the Trees and
the Helen
Day Art Center's Holiday Family Day. There are also musical
events, including the Sounds of
Christmas-Hallelujah! Handel's Messiah Sing In at the Stowe
Community Church and the Vermont Mozart Festival presents "A
Baroque Christmas".
Stowe Village comes alive Christmas week with Christmas
in the Mountains - A festive celebration of the season that includes a
town-wide Festival of Lights Contest, candy making demonstrations,
holiday facepainting, Santa Claus, caroling and more!
