The year 1833 might not be prominently featured in history
books, but several remarkable events occurred that year
including a meteor shower, a tsunami in the Asia-Pacific
region, the birth of our 23rd President, and the launch
of an anti-slavery society. A coaching inn for travelers was also built
in the heart of Vermont’s Stowe village, which is
known as the Green Mountain Inn. The Inn, which
has properties that rank at the top of the National Register
of Historical Places, is celebrating a milestone anniversary
of 175 years in 2008.
Celebrations
at the Inn are scheduled throughout the entire year, complete
with room giveaways and rolling back pricing on dinner
specials and dessert specials. We are also offering a special
combination event which includes a guided tour of historic
Stowe after enjoying the Whip Bar & Grill’s famous
corn chowder.
